A shocking case of a murder over a mere Rs 40 has come to light from Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh.
According to information, the incident occurred in Sammutal area of Bhoranj on December 26, but the victim, Sandeep Kumar, succumbed to his injuries at AIIMS-Bilaspur after six days of treatment.
Based on a complaint by the victim’s wife, Arti Devi, who originally belongs to Uttar Pradesh, the police have registered a murder case.
Arti alleged that on the evening of December 26, she heard loud screams near their home. She found Ramdarsh, who also belongs to Uttar Pradesh, restraining her husband near a petrol pump while his accomplice Amarjeet allegedly hit Sandeep’s head with a bamboo stick before fleeing.
Initially, the police were informed that Sandeep’s injuries were due to a fall, and no case was registered. However, following his death and the wife’s statement, the police are investigating the matter as a homicide.
A police official said they were investigating the case from all angles and were verifying what led to the murder.
