Bharmaur — Bharmaur-Pangi MLA Dr. Janak Raj held separate meetings with two Union Ministers in New Delhi on Monday, accompanied by Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sikandar Kumar. The discussions focused on vital developmental and religious tourism initiatives in the region.
Dr. Janak Raj met Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, and urged swift action on three major infrastructure projects in his constituency: the Pathankot-Kilad highway, the Drekund-Kareri tunnel linking Bharmaur to Kangra, and the Holi-Utrala tunnel route. He requested these be prioritized for expedited completion.
In a separate meeting, Dr. Raj also met Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, where he appealed to include the sacred Manimahesh Yatra under the Government of India’s flagship PRASAD scheme. He emphasized the potential benefits for pilgrims and the region’s spiritual tourism landscape.
