Dharamshala: Three persons were caught and 1.945 kg of charas was seized from them recently by Kangra police.
Identified as Sukhram (46) and Vishan Das (46) from Paddar, Mandi, along with Shubhkaran (24) from Rompa Jawali, Kangra, the trio’s attempt to distribute the contraband, worth nearly Rs 4 lakh, was thwarted.
The interception, led by the station house officer (SHO) of Kangra, occurred near Kachiari petrol pump, preventing the illegal distribution of the substance in Jawali and beyond.
This seizure marks one of the largest in recent years for Kangra police.
Charged under various sections of the NDPS Act, the accused face serious legal consequences for their involvement in the illicit trade.
The accused individuals have been arrested and await judicial proceedings.
