Dharamshala: Suvrat Sharma, a 14-year-old prodigy and student of DAV School Narwana, captivated the audience with his soulful rendition of semi-classical songs during the ‘Dharamshala Spring Carnival.’ He clinched the 2nd position in the Voice of Dhauladhar contest, a prominent segment of the carnival.
During the auditions, Suvrat mesmerized with his performance of “Sada Chidiya Da Chamba We,” a traditional Himachali song. In the final round, he showcased his versatility by singing “Mitwa,” a melodious Bollywood track from the 2006 movie Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. The song, composed by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy and sung by Shafqat Amanat Ali, features a star-studded cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukherji, Preity Zinta, and Kirron Kher.
Suvrat, the son of vocalist Dheeraj Sharma, hails from the Kangra region of Himachal Pradesh. Interestingly, Suvrat’s brother Sulabh is also a noted performer but with a penchant for percussion. Both brothers, of the same age, have become acclaimed artists in the area.
