Mandi: Residents of Pandoh town in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh have voiced their staunch opposition to the proposed outsourcing of school management to the DAV administration. The focal point of contention revolves around the affordability of education, with concerns raised over the potentially exorbitant fees levied by external entities.

The BBMB’s, BSL Senior Secondary School, nestled in the heart of Pandoh, has become the epicenter of a spirited debate regarding its future governance. With discussions underway to transfer administrative reins to the DAV administration, residents fear that such a move could render education inaccessible to many due to prohibitive fee structures.

Highlighting the urgency of the matter, community representatives emphasized the need for sustainable solutions that prioritize accessibility and inclusivity. “We cannot stand idly by as the cost of education skyrockets beyond the means of ordinary citizens,” remarked Manoj Kumar, a concerned resident.

The school, which once thrived under the auspices of the Punjab Education Board before transitioning to the CBSE curriculum a decade ago, now stands at a critical juncture. Despite its status as the sole CBSE-affiliated institution in the region, grievances regarding its current state have reached a crescendo among locals.

Khem Chand, a prominent member of the community, underscored the disconnect between assurances of fee stability and ground realities. “Talk of fee stagnation rings hollow when faced with the stark reality of unaffordable education,” Chand lamented.

Amidst the furor, calls for greater autonomy in school management have gained traction, with proponents advocating for the BBMB to assume direct control. Such a move, they argue, would enable tailored interventions to address staffing shortages and bolster educational outcomes.

As the discourse unfolds, all eyes remain fixed on the pivotal decision looming over the fate of Pandoh’s educational landscape. With the aspirations of an entire community hanging in the balance, the path forward must be paved with foresight, equity, and unwavering commitment to accessible education for all.
