Dharamshala: Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa emphasized that expeditious redressal of public issues in the Kangra district will be a top priority to spare citizens from frequent visits to government offices.
Interacting with media persons on Wednesday at the Deputy Commissioner’s office Bairwa assured that he, along with the officer team, would work diligently to ensure the successful implementation of all government welfare schemes in the district and extend the benefits to eligible individuals.
Bairwa outlined plans to launch campaigns across the district, promoting inter-departmental coordination to keep the younger generation away from substance abuse. He highlighted the importance of community participation and announced initiatives to open more libraries at every level to encourage youth engagement and foster a reading culture. Additionally, tourism activities and enhanced facilities for devotees at spiritual sites will be prioritized in Kangra.
As part of ongoing efforts, the DC mentioned that regular reviews of developmental projects would be conducted to maintain progress momentum. Bairwa, an IAS officer of the 2013 batch from the Himachal cadre, assumed the responsibilities of Deputy Commissioner Kangra recently, having previously served as the Deputy Commissioner in Hamirpur.
Originally hailing from Dausa district in Rajasthan and an alumnus of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Bairwa holds a BTech in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Kanpur.
His career in Himachal Pradesh includes roles as SDM Mandi, ADC Chamba, Special Secretary Energy, Director Youth Services and Sports, Deputy Commissioner Kinnaur, and Mission Director National Health Mission.
