Deputy Chief Whip of Himachal Pradesh Assembly, Kewal Singh Pathania, announced that the arrangements of the state‑level Chhatrari Jatra Fair will be streamlined and enhanced on the lines of the internationally renowned Minjar Fair.
Addressing the concluding cultural evening at the historic Maa Shiv‑Shakti temple premises in Chhatrari, Pathania expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for granting the fair state‑level status, which he said has given new recognition to the region’s rich religious and folk‑cultural heritage.
He stated that a concrete action plan will be prepared to improve the organization, cultural programs, facilities, and other arrangements of the fair. The Sub‑Divisional Administration has been directed to assess the fair’s potential and draft a plan to make it more attractive, ensuring greater participation of locals and tourists.
Pathania also instructed officials to prepare estimates for temple beautification and renovation works, and to identify suitable land for constructing public toilets. He announced a grant of ₹51,000 for the organizing committee.
Earlier, the committee honored Pathania during the event. Prominent attendees included Surjeet Bharmauri (Member Director, State Road Transport Corporation & District Congress Committee President), Hajj Committee Chairman Dildar Ali Watt, SDM Chirag Sharma, District Language Officer Tukesh Sharma, local Panchayat Pradhan Rinku Bhardwaj, representatives of Panchayati Raj institutions, and other dignitaries.
