Dharamshala has always had something special to offer — the majestic Dhauladhar, beautiful surroundings, a rich Himachali culture and, above all, the warmth of its people. Today, I believe the next chapter of tourism in our region should be about bringing all these elements together and creating experiences that visitors truly remember.

As a hospitality professional, my vision is to see Dharamshala grow beyond being a destination that people simply visit. I want visitors to experience Dharamshala — to discover our culture, taste our local food, celebrate their special moments here and connect with the people and traditions that make this region unique.

At Dhauladhar Heights Resort, our endeavour is to contribute to this larger vision. We want our guests to experience more than a comfortable stay. From the warmth of our service to the food we serve and the experiences we create, we want every guest to feel a genuine connection with Dharamshala and Himachal Pradesh.

I see tremendous potential for Dharamshala as a destination for weddings and celebrations. A destination wedding here can be much more than a beautiful event. The Dhauladhar can provide the backdrop, Himachali cuisine can add a local flavour, and our culture and hospitality can make the occasion truly memorable. At the same time, such celebrations create opportunities for local decorators, florists, artists, photographers, transporters, farmers and many other businesses.

I also believe that Himachali food deserves a much larger place in our tourism story. Food is one of the most personal ways of understanding a destination. Traditional dishes, local ingredients and recipes passed down through generations can give travellers a taste of the real Himachal. Hotels and resorts can play an important role in taking these flavours to visitors while supporting local producers and suppliers.

Tourism growth, however, should always go hand in hand with responsibility. Our mountains, forests, water and local communities are the foundation of what makes Dharamshala special. Supporting local talent, sourcing locally, reducing waste and respecting our natural surroundings should become an important part of the way we develop tourism.

My vision is simple — let visitors not just stay in Dharamshala, but experience Dharamshala. Let them take home memories of our mountains, our food, our culture and our people.

I believe Dharamshala has everything needed to become one of India’s most memorable mountain destinations.
