In a major action against the illegal drug trade, the CIA Wing of Nurpur Police apprehended a youth in the Chatroli area and recovered 16.02 grams of chitta/heroin from his possession.
On August 11, 2026, while patrolling to curb drug trafficking, the police team received a tip-off that Ajay Kumar, son of Raj Kumar, resident of Hariyal, Tehsil and District Pathankot, Punjab, was present near St. Xavier Cambridge School at Chatroli Khad with heroin, intending to sell it in Chatroli and Jasur areas.
Acting swiftly, the police team reached the spot with independent witnesses and detained the suspect along with his motorcycle (PB08CC-4706 Splendor Plus). During the search, a transparent polythene packet hidden inside the motorcycle’s dashboard was recovered. On testing, the substance was confirmed to be heroin, weighing 16.02 grams on a digital scale. The narcotics and motorcycle were seized as per legal procedure.
A case has been registered at Police Station Nurpur under FIR No. 203/2026 dated 11.08.2026, under Sections 21 and 25 of the NDPS Act, 1985.
The arrested accused has been identified as Ajay Kumar (28), son of Raj Kumar, resident of Hariyal, District Pathankot, Punjab. He has been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway.
