Under the “Nasha Mukt Himachal Abhiyan” (Drug-Free Himachal Campaign), Nurpur Police has achieved another major breakthrough. Acting on credible intelligence, the CIA team of Nurpur Police arrested an interstate drug trafficker from Punjab and seized 15.43 grams of heroin (chitta) from his possession at the Nurpur bus stand.
On July 18, 2026, the CIA team was deployed for patrolling and checking suspicious activities when a tip-off was received about a man attempting to sell narcotics near the bus stand. The team swiftly acted on the information and apprehended the suspect. Upon searching his carry bag, police recovered a polythene packet hidden among clothes containing 15.43 grams of heroin, which was sealed on the spot as per legal procedure.

A case has been registered against the accused under FIR No. 183/2026 at Police Station Nurpur under Section 21 of the ND&PS Act, and he has been taken into custody. Police are investigating backward and forward linkages to trace the source and intended recipients of the contraband.
