A 12-year-old schoolgirl was injured on Monday morning after being hit by an Army vehicle near Dagwar Chowk. According to eyewitnesses, Army convoys were moving from Dharamshala towards Gaggal when the accident occurred.
Due to ongoing construction of the new building at the Dagwar Milk Plant, trucks and vehicles were parked along the roadside, narrowing the passage. As the Army driver turned left at Dagwar Chowk, a parked taxi was damaged. In the process, the vehicle’s tire ran over the foot of Sejal, a schoolgirl, leaving her injured.
She was immediately rushed to Tanda Hospital for treatment. Police reached the spot and reviewed the situation. The matter was resolved through mutual understanding among all parties. The Army driver provided ₹10,000 to the girl’s family for medical expenses and assured further support if needed. Compensation was also given to the taxi driver for damages, and hence no police case was registered.
Meanwhile, Dagwar Panchayat Pradhan Kuldeep Kumar and Up-Pradhan Rakesh Kumar urged the administration to install speed breakers at key points along the Dagwar–Dharamshala road, citing steep slopes and high vehicle speeds as a recurring safety concern.
