A strong message of healthy living, mental well-being, and a drug-free society resonated across Daksh Public School, Arthi, as International Yoga Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and community participation on Sunday.

Jointly organised by Mandavya Kala Manch, Art of Living, and Daksh Public School, the event witnessed the active participation of students, teachers, local residents, and dignitaries, who came together to reaffirm the significance of yoga as a way of life and a powerful tool for holistic wellness.

Retired District Public Relations Officer and founder of Mandavya Kala Manch, Kuldeep Guleria, graced the occasion and addressed the gathering. Describing yoga as one of India’s greatest gifts to humanity, he said it is far more than a physical discipline, serving as a science that harmonises the body, mind, and spirit.

“Yoga is an invaluable part of our cultural heritage. By making it a daily practice, we can achieve a healthier, happier, and more balanced life. The message of ‘Do Yoga, Stay Healthy’ should become a way of life for every individual,” he said.

The practical yoga session was conducted by experienced Art of Living instructor Uma Guleria, who guided participants through a series of yoga asanas, pranayama, and meditation techniques. She highlighted the proven physical, mental, and emotional benefits of regular yoga practice, noting that it enhances immunity, reduces stress, improves concentration, and fosters inner peace.

In a significant initiative, all participants took a collective pledge to neither promote nor support substance abuse, directly or indirectly, and committed themselves to spreading awareness for building a drug-free society.

The celebration also featured patriotic cultural performances by artists of Mandavya Kala Manch, whose spirited renditions captivated the audience and infused the event with a sense of national pride.

Expressing gratitude to the organisers and participants, Daksh Public School Director Kamal Sharma said yoga is a timeless practice that nurtures discipline, positivity, and overall well-being. He emphasised that such community-driven initiatives play an important role in inspiring the younger generation to adopt healthier lifestyles.

Former BDC Chairperson Anjana Rawat, Mandal Panchayat Vice-President Surender Kumar, along with several eminent citizens of the area, were also present on the occasion, lending their support to the event and its message of wellness, social responsibility, and a healthier future.
