Police District Nurpur has intensified its campaign against illegal mining and unauthorized mineral transportation through continuous special checks across border areas and the sensitive Mand region. As part of this drive, police teams conducted surprise inspections and took strict legal action under the Mining Act against 10 vehicles found violating mining regulations.
Details of Action:
- Indora Police Station & Thakurdwara Outpost: A joint team patrolled Kathgarh, Ulehriyan, Thakurdwara, and Mand Miani areas, challaning 1 JCB machine, 2 multi-axle trucks, and 5 tractors involved in illegal mining.
- Damtal Police Station & Dhangupir Outpost: The team seized 1 multi-axle truck and 1 tractor engaged in illegal mineral transport.
All 6 tractors were fined on the spot as per departmental rules. The 3 multi-axle trucks and 1 JCB (HP38-2136) have been taken into police custody and sent to the Hon’ble Court for further proceedings.
Police District Nurpur reaffirmed that strict legal measures will continue against those violating mining laws. Surprise inspections will remain ongoing to ensure law and order and curb illegal mining activities across the region.
