Narcotics Act Action: One Arrested with 512 Grams of Charas

The CIA team of Police District Nurpur has achieved success in its ongoing campaign against narcotics. The police arrested one individual with a significant quantity of charas.

Accused Details:

  • Name: Ramesh Chand (40)
  • Father’s Name: Bhagat Ram
  • Resident: Village Dobhi, Sub‑Tehsil Sahu, District Chamba (Himachal Pradesh)

Operation and Recovery: According to police information, the operation was carried out near the Niyad bus stop (Post Office Gurchal, Tehsil Nurpur). Acting on suspicion, the police team stopped the accused. Upon searching him, 512 grams of charas (cannabis) was recovered from his possession. The contraband was immediately seized, and the accused was taken into custody.

A case has been registered against Ramesh Chand under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act. Police are investigating further to determine the source of the consignment and its intended destination.
