At the prestigious Annual Business Summit 2026 organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in New Delhi, grassroots leader Vimla Vishw Premi from Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh, was honored for her outstanding social contributions.
Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan presented her with a citation, trophy, and a cash award of ₹1 lakh. The award recognized her relentless fight against social evils and her efforts to strengthen society through her organization, Parvatiya Mahila Vikas Trust.
While presenting the award, Minister Pradhan praised Vimla Ji as a beacon of women’s empowerment, noting that she has implemented inspiring models of self-reliance among marginalized communities. For over three decades, she has been at the forefront of struggles against gender discrimination and social injustices, raising awareness among thousands of women and providing legal aid to those in need.
Her leadership has advanced women’s voices in the hill regions, making her a symbol of courage and resilience. At the CII summit, 20 inspiring women from across India were honored, with Vimla Vishw Premi shining as Himachal’s proud representative on the national stage.
