Dalhousie — Manish Sareen, former state spokesperson of the Aam Aadmi Party and 2022 candidate from the Dalhousie Assembly constituency, has officially joined the Indian National Congress along with his supporters. He was welcomed into the party by Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, who presented him with the Congress stole as a symbol of his induction.
Following his entry into the Congress, Sareen paid a courtesy visit to senior Congress leader and former Education Minister Asha Kumari at her residence in Jandrigat. He was accompanied by Rajesh Chobhiyal and Ichha Ram Tandon. Asha Kumari extended her warm wishes to the new members and expressed hope for their active contribution to the party.
During the meeting, Sareen and Kumari held detailed discussions on strengthening the Congress presence in the Dalhousie constituency and advancing key developmental projects in the region.
Notably, Manish Sareen was known as a dedicated leader during his tenure with the Aam Aadmi Party. His shift to Congress is seen as mutually beneficial—bringing him closer to a party he believes can drive meaningful progress, while offering Congress a committed grassroots leader.
Sareen stated that he sees the Congress as the only party capable of steering both the state and the nation toward sustainable development and public welfare.
