Baijnath — In a crucial meeting held at the SDM office today, Electoral Registration Officer and Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Civil), Baijnath, Mr. Sankalp Gautam, directed sector officers to complete physical inspection and verification of basic facilities at all 105 polling stations in the Baijnath assembly constituency by July 31, 2025.
Presiding over the meeting, SDM Gautam emphasized that ensuring transparency, sensitivity, and voter accessibility is vital to the democratic process. He urged officers to make certain that each polling station is equipped with:
- Clean drinking water 💧
- Electricity ⚡
- Functional toilets 🚻
- Safe structural conditions 🏫
- Wheelchair-accessible ramps for differently-abled and elderly voters ♿
Any deficiencies found must be promptly addressed by the concerned departments, he stressed.
“The voter is central to a healthy democracy,” Gautam stated, underscoring the administration’s commitment to free, fair, and peaceful elections. He added that the progress of sector officers will be reviewed in the coming days to ensure full compliance.
The meeting’s proceedings were conducted by Election Kanungo Rajesh Thakur, with active participation from all sector officers.
