DHARAMSHALA: Himachal Pradesh is expected to receive the first spell of monsoon rains within the next two to three days, with the weather department forecasting its likely arrival around June 21.
Favourable atmospheric conditions suggest a timely onset of the southwest monsoon, which is also expected to bring above-normal rainfall this season. An orange alert for heavyrain has been issued from June 21 to 23.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has already alerted state authorities regarding the forecast, prompting the government to initiate extensive preparedness measures to handle potential weather-related disasters.
