Una : Shikha Mankotia, hailing from Gagret subdivision in Una district, has achieved remarkable recognition in the field of yoga. She has been named among India’s 21 most inspiring yogis, acknowledging her contributions and dedication to promoting yoga. This prestigious honor was bestowed upon her at a grand event organized by the All India Yoga Teachers Federation in New Delhi.
During the ceremony, a book titled Discover the Untapped Talent in the Field of Yoga – Volume I was launched, featuring the inspiring journeys of 21 yogis who have significantly influenced society through yoga. The event was graced by distinguished personalities, including chief guest Dr. Abhishek Verma, Lieutenant Colonel Pawandeep, renowned journalist Deepak Chaurasia, Vietnam-based SKM Yoga representative Shivam Mishra, and Haridwar’s Dakshin Kali Peeth head priest Pawan Dutt Mishra Maharaj, among others.

The gathering also saw discussions on the promotion of yoga and the welfare of yoga teachers. Chief guest Dr. Abhishek Verma emphasized the need to increase the minimum salary for yoga instructors, pledging to raise the issue with the Ministry of AYUSH. He stated that fair compensation would encourage yoga teachers to serve society with even greater dedication.
Shikha Mankotia is a trained yoga therapist and an expert in Garbh Sanskar, actively helping pregnant women achieve holistic well-being through yoga and mental health support. She is currently pursuing her PhD at Shoolini University, Solan, where her research focuses on making scientific yoga methodologies more accessible to the general public.
Her achievement is a moment of pride not only for Una district but also for the daughters of Himachal Pradesh, serving as an inspiration for many.
