Chamba: A major tragedy was narrowly averted on Sunday evening near Jwans on the Salooni–Sanghani road in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh when two women were caught in a sudden flashflood.
The incident occurred after heavy rainfall caused a local stream to overflow, posing a serious risk to pedestrians and halting vehicle movement in the area.

The incident took place after an unexpected downpour late in the evening caused the Jwans stream to swell rapidly. With no bridge or safe passage, people began risking their lives to cross the raging waters.

As the women struggled in the middle of the forceful stream, a bystander on the opposite bank sprang into action.
Braving the strong current, the person reached the stranded women and helped them to the shore, avoiding what could have been a deadly mishap.
