Top Himachal BJP leaders attend last rites of former MP Kishan Kapoor in Dharamshala

Dharamshala: Senior BJP leaders, including the party’s Himachal Pradesh president Dr Rajeev Bindal, attended the last rites of veteran leader, former minister and ex-MP Kishan Kapoor in Dharamshala on Sunday (February 2, 2025).
Dr Bindal paid tributes to the departed soul and extended condolences to Kapoor’s son, Shashwat Kapoor, and other family members.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Bindal described Kishan Kapoor as one of the stalwarts of the Bharatiya Janata Party, who made invaluable contributions to the party throughout his political career.

Remained MLA five times, minister thrice

“Kishan Kapoor served as an MLA five times and held ministerial positions thrice, significantly contributing to the development of Himachal Pradesh. Since the party’s inception in 1980, he dutifully discharged various responsibilities with utmost dedication,” Dr Bindal said, adding that his demise was an irreparable loss to the party.
Dr Bindal assured the bereaved family of the party’s unwavering support during this difficult time and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.

Remembering Kishan Kapoor’s lasting legacy

The solemn ceremony was also attended by BJP state general secretary Siddharthan, Kangra parliamentary constituency in-charge and MLA Vipin Parmar, MP and state vice-president Dr Rajeev Bhardwaj, Kangra district president Sachin Sharma, along with prominent leaders like Pawan Kajal and Rakesh Pathania. They all paid their heartfelt tributes, remembering Kapoor’s lasting legacy within the party and the state.
