Springdale Convent shines at 2nd Himachal Matsogi-Do Championship

The 2nd Himachal State Matsogi-Do Championship 2024, organised by the Matsogi-Do Association of Kangra district, took place on October 2 at Delhi Public School, Kangra.
The event, recognised by the International Matsogi-Do Federation of India, saw enthusiastic participation from students across various government and non-government schools. Among the participants, 25 students from Springdale Convent Senior Secondary School, Jwali, delivered an exceptional performance.
In the competition, Aarushi, Garvit Hira, Aditya, Riyansh, Amandeep, Parv and Janvi earned bronze medals for their outstanding efforts.
Meanwhile, Saira, Advik, Sandarbh, Riyansh Guleria, Manvi, Aanchal, Nimay Sharma, Aarav Pathania and Suryansh secured silver medals.
Gold medals were awarded to Simone, Abhay, Priyansh, Harshita, Divyansh, Abhay Thakur, and Naksh, bringing glory to their school and region.
Springdale Convent bagged a total of 8 gold, 10 silver, and 7 bronze medals, securing the prestigious “Runner-Up Trophy” in the championship. This remarkable achievement brought a wave of joy and pride to the entire school community.
Upon their return, the students were warmly welcomed by the school’s Principal, Dr Rajiv Singh Niryal, and Chairman, Dr Rajendra. Both leaders congratulated the students and their proud parents, encouraging them to continue excelling in both academics and extracurricular activities. They emphasised the importance of balancing studies with participation in school events.
The winning students attributed their success to the support of the school’s Principal, committee members, their coach Prakash Parihar, parents, and teachers. The students expressed gratitude for the new facilities provided at the school for Taekwondo, which they believe played a significant role in their success.
