MANDI: A 22-year-old MBBS student at Lal Bahadur Shastri Medical College at Ner Chowk in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh allegedly died on Thursday night.
The student, identified as Vijay Udenia, was in his third semester of the MBBS program. Upon receiving the distress call, the police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation into the incident.
Vijay Udenia, hailing from Udaipuria village in Harmada Valley of Jaipur in Rajasthan, was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan in his hostel room. Fellow students, upon noticing the situation, rushed him to the emergency department of the medical college. However, doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.
The authorities have conducted a post-mortem examination and the body has been handed over to the family. Preliminary reports indicate that Vijay had been withdrawn and less engaged with his studies over the past few months. The reasons behind this tragic decision are currently under investigation.
Mandi ASP Sagar Chander confirmed the incident, stating that the police were continuing their inquiries to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
