MANDI: Dhanadev, a resident of Badso in Balh area of Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi, has been missing in Kuwait for the past 16 days, leaving his family in a state of despair.

Working as a motor mechanic in Kuwait for the last seven years, Dhanadev reportedly went missing after a fire incident that killed 49 persons, mostly Indians, led to the evacuation of his residential building on June 24.

Following the death of his father, Dhanadev had returned to Kuwait only nine months ago to support his family. On June 22, he had informed his family about sending them a ticket but called up on June 24 to cancel the plan. Since then, his phone has been unreachable and there has been no contact with him.

Family in distress

Dhanadev’s wife expressed deep concern over the lack of communication since the evening of June 24, which has plunged the entire family into anxiety. His mother Masra Devi highlighted that Dhanadev is the sole breadwinner and his absence had left the family in a precarious situation.

The distressed family met newly elected Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut, seeking her intervention and support in locating Dhanadev. His uncle Hansraj mentioned that despite appeals to the local administration and the state government, there has been no trace of Dhanadev. He stated that Dhanadev had all his documents, including his passport and visa, and his colleagues in Kuwait had also been searching for him, but to no avail.

Appeal for MEA’s intervention

Hansraj urged the government to assist in locating Dhanadev, assuring that the family would bear the expenses to bring him back home. The family’s plea underscores the urgent need for coordinated efforts between Indian and Kuwaiti authorities to locate and bring back Dhanadev safely.

As the days pass without any news, the family remains hopeful for a positive outcome and continues to appeal for help in their search for Dhanadev.
