The second 3×3 State-Level Basketball Championship for boys and girls was inaugurated at the Municipal Council Ground, Kangra, by Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) Vice Chairman Ajay Verma, who attended the event as the chief guest.

On his arrival, Ajay Verma was warmly welcomed by Himachal Pradesh Basketball Association General Secretary Munish Sharma, Beopar Mandal President and State Brahmin Welfare Board Chairman Ved Prakash Sharma, District Council Chairman Ramesh Barad, District Basketball Association President Sushil, and other association members, who honoured him with garlands.
Demand Raised for Early Completion of Kangra Indoor Stadium to Promote Sports Culture
Speaking on the occasion, Munish Sharma urged the chief guest to ensure adequate budgetary provision for the under-construction indoor stadium in Kangra. He emphasized that the early completion of the indoor stadium would play a crucial role in strengthening sports activities in the region.
He further stated that a functional indoor stadium would also significantly support the state government’s campaign against drug abuse, as around 250 to 300 young players from the Kangra Assembly constituency would get proper training facilities and opportunities to prepare for national-level competitions, channeling youth energy towards sports and a healthy lifestyle.
