The National Sub-Junior Kurash Championship 2025–26 was held in Raipur, Chhattisgarh from September 10 to 13, 2025. In this prestigious national-level competition, the Himachal Pradesh team delivered an outstanding performance, securing a total of 10 medals—including 2 silver and 8 bronze.
Among the participants were four students from Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Durgella:
- Anirudh (Class 6)
- Aadesh Dogra (Class 8)
- Aakh Pathania (Class 8)
- Ankit (Class 10)
Notably, Anirudh, trained under Mr. Mohan Singh, earned a bronze medal in the –35 kg weight category, bringing pride not only to Himachal Pradesh but also to District Kangra and Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Durgella.
On this remarkable achievement, Principal Virender Guleshiya, along with the entire school staff, extended heartfelt congratulations to the students. Officials from the State Kurash Association—including Kaushal Mungta, Surender Kulla, Virender Dhaulata, and Hardeep Singh—also congratulated the team. Special appreciation was given to Coach Rajesh Kumar (Lecturer, Physical Education) and PET Ravi Kant for their dedicated training and mentorship.
This success marks a proud moment for the school and the region, showcasing the growing talent and commitment of young athletes in Himachal Pradesh.
