Ashmita Women’s Weightlifting League 2025 Successfully Held at HIET Group, Kangra

Kangra : The prestigious Ashmita Women’s Weightlifting League 2025 was successfully organised by Dhauladhar Weightlifting Academy at HIET Group of Institutions, Kangra (Himachal Pradesh), marking a proud moment for the region.

This competition is part of a national series being held across India’s top 50 cities, and the selection of Kangra’s HIET Group as a host is being hailed as a major achievement for Himachal Pradesh.

Speaking at the event, HIET Managing Director Mr. Dushyant Kayastha expressed gratitude to Indian Weightlifting Federation President Mr. Sahdev Yadav, stating:

“It is a matter of pride for a state like Himachal to host such a prestigious national event. This will give our daughters a platform to showcase their talent at the national level.”

The league was inaugurated under Mr. Kayastha’s chief patronage, with international referee Mr. Pradeep Sharma and Himachal Pradesh Weightlifting Association Secretary Mr. Raj Kumar present as special guests.

Women athletes from various districts of Himachal Pradesh participated and delivered outstanding performances across multiple weight categories. A silver medalist from the Khelo India Women’s Games stole the spotlight by lifting 110 kg and clinching the gold medal, becoming the highlight of the event.

Adding to the pride, Dhauladhar Weightlifting Academy’s athlete Vanshika secured the silver medal in the 62 kg category, bringing honor to her institution.

The closing ceremony was graced by Dhauladhar Education Society Chairman Mr. Raman Kayastha, who felicitated the winners and wished them a bright future.
He remarked,

“Such events inspire our daughters to rise and shine.”

The entire event was conducted with discipline, dedication, and true sportsmanship. The organizing committee announced plans to hold similar competitions regularly to continue providing platforms for emerging talent in the state.
