Displaying a perfect mix of speed, skill and spirit, 12-year-old inline speed skater Aakasa Sharma has emerged as the fastest skater in Himachal Pradesh, rewriting the record books and redefining what determination looks like on wheels.

At the 2nd Himachal Pradesh Roller Skating Championship held at India’s best bend track in Sector 22, IT Park, Panchkula, Aakasa blazed past competitors to clinch two gold medals — a feat that not only crowned her double champion but also secured her spot at the upcoming nationals in Bengaluru this December.

But what truly has the skating world talking is her timing — Aakasa didn’t just dominate the girls’ category but outpaced even the boys in the 12 to 15-year age group. While many of her competitors were aged 13 or 14, Aakasa is just 12, in the entry year of her category, making her victory all the more remarkable.

Spectators watched in awe as Aakasa’s wheels kissed the curves of the Panchkula track with unmatched precision. Her explosive start, flawless control on the bends and relentless sprint to the finish line left the crowd cheering her name.

Her performance has not only brought glory to Himachal Pradesh but also inspired countless young skaters across the state and region. With this championship win, Aakasa now steps onto the national stage with momentum, confidence and a golden glow.

When asked about her secret, the young champ smiled and said, “I just love the feeling of the wind chasing me. Every race is a new chance to go faster than before.”

Behind this phenomenal achievement stands her coach, Chander Singhal, who has been instrumental in shaping her technique and mindset. “Aakasa is a rare combination of discipline, passion and speed. She trains like a pro, thinks like a champion and races like fire,” he remarked with pride.

As the countdown begins for the National Roller Skating Championship in Bengaluru, all eyes are now on this young prodigy who has already made the state proud.
