Prayagraj: An elderly man from Himachal Pradesh has been missing at the Prayagraj Mahakumbh after the stampede on January 29.
Two persons from Himachal Pradesh had gone missing at the ongoing Mahakumbh, causing concern among their families.
While 66-year-old Preeto Devi from Lahda village in Hamirpur was found on Thursday (January 30, 2025) morning at the Prayagraj railway station, 68-year-old Kedar Singh from Shiv Kando village in Sirmaur remains missing even on the fourth day.
Last seen at Sangam where stampede took place
Kamlesh, a resident of Sirmaur, informed that his grandfather, Kedar Singh, has been missing since the morning of January 29. He was last seen at the Sangam area.
Despite lodging an FIR with the Prayagraj police and conducting a personal search, there has been no trace of him so far. Kamlesh revealed that their group of 25 had travelled to the Mahakumbh and Kedar Singh went missing on the night of the stampede-like situation at the fair.
Woman found after social media appeal
Meanwhile, Preeto Devi, who had also gone missing on January 29, was found after a social media appeal.
She had reached the Mahakumbh on January 26 with a group of 60-65 people but got separated from them on January 28. Although her companions initially found her that evening, she went missing again later that night.
Several people shared posts and a mobile number on social media to help locate her.
Around midnight on Thursday, Sanjeev Sharma, a resident of Hamirpur, received a call informing him that Preeto Devi was sitting at the Prayagraj railway station.
She was then reunited with her fellow pilgrims. However, the search for Kedar Singh continues, with his family growing increasingly anxious.
