Former Legislative Assembly Speaker Vipin Singh Parmar held a press conference on Thursday in Dharamshala, expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the additional financial assistance of ₹633.73 crores sanctioned for disaster relief in Himachal Pradesh. The funds were approved under the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) on December 12.

Parmar assured that there is no shortage of assistance for Himachal Pradesh, as the state has substantial resources allocated for emergency situations. He commended the consistent support provided by the Central leadership for the state’s well-being. The assistance includes ₹1000 crores for MGNREGA, ₹100 crores for the PM Housing Scheme, ₹403 crores under the National Disaster Response Fund, ₹360 crores 80 lakh from the State Disaster Response Fund, and ₹85 crores 60 lakh under the State Disaster Mitigation Fund.

In addition, nearly ₹2700 crores have been allocated for the construction of roads and bridges in Himachal Pradesh under the Prime Minister’s Gram Sadak Yojana. Parmar emphasized that the Central leadership, under PM Modi, has not left any room for shortcomings in providing continuous aid to Himachal Pradesh. He thanked the BJP’s National President Jagat Prakash Nadda and Union Minister Anurag Thakur for consistently raising demands and securing approval from the Central Government.

During the press conference, Pawan Kajal, the Kangra MLA and State BJP General Secretary, was also present. While expressing gratitude for the Central Government’s assistance, he raised concerns about the economic condition of the state, criticizing the celebration of the one-year anniversary of the state government amid economic challenges.
