Congress leader from Bilaspur Bumber Thakur was among the organisers and a prominent face visible at Bilaspur’s Luhnu Ground where the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led Congress government celebrated its two-year anniversary of being in power in Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday (December 11, 2024).
Welcoming Sukhvinder Sukhu and AICC incharge for Himachal Rajeev Shukla, Bumber said, “This is not just a rally, but it’s a movement.” He accused the BJP of engaging in “buying and selling politics”.
Raising the issue of displaced individuals, Bumber said, “The problems of displaced people remain unresolved to this day.” He reminded the audience of an earlier protest held in the same ground against BJP leaders JP Nadda and former CM Prem Kumar Dhumal.
Bumber accused the BJP of purchasing Congress MLAs and alleged that money was transferred to their accounts as part of the conspiracy to overthrow a democratically elected government. He said, “If the Congress MLAs who joined BJP have been suspended by their party, even leaders like Nadda should be dismissed for being behind the conspiracy.”
The Congress leader levelled serious allegations against senior BJP leader Jai Ram Thakur, claiming, “Jai Ram Thakur and his party leaders are holding rallies in support of drug traffickers. They should be ashamed of their actions.”
