Shimla entrepreneur donates Rs 50 lakh to provide food for pilgrims at Mahakumbh

Prayagraj is hosting the grand Mahakumbh, an event that occurs once every 144 years, drawing millions of devotees from across the country to take a holy dip.
The Uttar Pradesh government has made elaborate arrangements to facilitate the pilgrims. Philanthropists from all over India have also stepped forward to contribute generously to this mega event.
Among them, Lokendra Mohan Chandel, a resident of Shoghi in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh, has donated a sum of Rs 50.02 lakh to provide meals for pilgrims.
Lokendra Chandel handed over the cheque to the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Shiv Pratap Shukla, at the Raj Bhavan in Shimla as a gesture of his faith and devotion.

Contributions to Himachal, UP CM Relief Funds

Lokendra Mohan Chandel, an entrepreneur, has not limited his generosity to the Mahakumbh alone. He has also donated Rs 2.05 lakh each to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund of Himachal Pradesh, the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund and the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
The cheques were presented to Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla in the presence of Shimla-based social worker Deepak Sharma and All India Sharshwat Parishad’s vice-president Gaurav Sharma.

Governor Expresses Gratitude

Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Lokendra Mohan Chandel for his generous contribution and unwavering faith.
He acknowledged that the Mahakumbh is the world’s largest spiritual and cultural gathering, symbolising India’s ancient values and spiritual heritage.
He further stated that the festival is not just a religious event but a grand celebration of Indian culture, harmony, and humanity, connecting the world to India’s rich traditions.
The Governor highlighted that every Sanatani should contribute to this divine event in some form, reinforcing the significance of collective faith and devotion.
