Gurugram — Renowned academician Professor Dr. Sanjay Kumar has been conferred the Best Teacher Award 2025 by the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) during the ISTE Faculty Convention and Education Industry Leaders Summit held at Swami Vivekanand Institute of Engineering and Technology, Banur.
Originally from Dhalyara village in Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh, Dr. Sanjay currently serves in the Department of Physics at Gurugram University. He has published 30 research papers at national and international levels and guided two PhD scholars and one M.Phil student.
Dr. Sanjay attributed his achievement to the blessings of Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan, spiritual leader of Dera Sacha Sauda, with which he has been associated since childhood. He expressed deep gratitude, saying, “This honour is only possible due to the grace of my revered Guruji.”
He emphasized that the teachings of Saint Dr. Ram Rahim Singh Ji — especially the values of dedication, honesty, and spiritual discipline — have guided his academic journey. “Every project I undertook succeeded with Guruji’s blessings,” he added.
Dr. Sanjay’s parents, Mrs. Nirmala Devi and Master Rikhy Ram, were also devoted followers of Dera Sacha Sauda, and he continues to walk the path they showed him. He received spiritual initiation (Naam Daan) from the revered Guru and integrates those values into his teaching.
A strong advocate of nanotechnology, Dr. Sanjay explained that many scientific breakthroughs depend on the properties of materials at microscopic scales. He highlighted that nano-based products are compact, lightweight, and cost-effective — especially in the Indian context.
The ISTE aims to advance technical education in India by training educators, promoting student development, and preparing skilled professionals for industry. It regularly organises workshops and training programs to update the knowledge and skills of teachers and administrators.
Dr. Sanjay thanked ISTE for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to excellence in education, inspired by the spiritual guidance of his Guru.
