The 74th Annual Function of Himachal Mitra Mandal, Mumbai was celebrated with great enthusiasm and grandeur, bringing together the Himachali community in a vibrant showcase of culture, tradition, and unity.
Traditional Feast and Cultural Highlights
- A traditional Himachali Dham was organized, where more than 1,500 guests relished authentic mountain delicacies.
- The cultural segment was the highlight of the evening, featuring mesmerizing performances by Kuldeep Sharma, the renowned “Nati King”, and the Kangra Lok Kala Manch team led by Shivani Negi Gurung. Their energetic presentations kept the audience enthralled throughout the program.
Souvenir Release and Record Sponsorship

- This year, the Mandal released its souvenir, achieving a historic milestone with ₹15 lakh in sponsorships, setting a new record.
- Chief Guest Sudhir Sharma, MLA from Dharamshala, announced a special grant of ₹5 lakh, further adding to the celebrations.
Distinguished Guests and Recognition
- Prof. Nagesh Thakur, former National President of ABVP, graced the event as a special guest. He praised the Mandal’s cultural, social, and community initiatives, calling it a true symbol of Himachali unity and tradition.
- It is noteworthy that last year, R.S. Bali, MLA from Nagrota Bagwan and Chairman of HPTDC, had also extended support of ₹5 lakh.
Organizational Achievements
- A major accomplishment this year was the successful renewal of the long-pending lease of the Mandal Bhavan, pending since 2009.
- The renovated assembly hall, upgraded with high-quality standards, was widely appreciated by attendees.
Leadership and Vision
- These achievements were credited to the dynamic leadership of Mr. Manoj Awasthi, President of Himachal Mitra Mandal. A native of Palampur and a prominent builder in Mumbai under the brand Meridian Homes, Awasthi’s dedicated efforts have set new benchmarks in cultural preservation, social service, and organizational growth.
