New Delhi — Former Union Minister and Member of Parliament from Hamirpur, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur inaugurated a two-day educational workshop titled “AI for Everyone: Tools, Skills and Ethics” at the Delhi School of Journalism, University of Delhi. The event marked a significant step toward integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into journalism and media education, equipping participants with the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly digital landscape.
🧠 AI as a Catalyst for National Transformation
In his keynote address, Thakur envisioned a future where every Indian is AI literate, aligning with the national goal of Viksit Bharat 2047. He emphasized that AI will be a transformative force, reshaping industries and improving lives.
He shared that he is personally working on a personalized AI model to better understand and address the needs and priorities of his constituency. He encouraged all public representatives to harness AI for deeper engagement and more effective governance.
🌐 India’s Ambitious AI Roadmap
Thakur outlined India’s strategic vision to become a global hub for AI innovation by 2030. He noted:
- India aims to train over 20 million students and professionals in foundational AI principles.
- Another 10 million individuals will be equipped with advanced AI and data engineering skills.
- Plans are underway to establish global AI employment exchanges to connect Indian talent with international opportunities.
- The global demand for AI professionals is expected to exceed 80 million by 2030.

The workshop aims to provide hands-on experience and ethical insights into the use of AI tools in journalism, communication, and public media. By bringing together experts from academia, industry, and government, the event fosters a comprehensive understanding of AI’s potential and challenges in the media domain.
