Shrey Awasthi, State Convenor of the Himachal Pradesh Unemployed Youth Federation, Urges Govt to Reschedule HPAS Prelims Due to Clash with UGC-NET JRF Exam

Shrey Awasthi, the State Convenor of the Himachal Pradesh Unemployed Youth Federation, has made a strong appeal to the Himachal Pradesh Government to reconsider the date of the upcoming Himachal Pradesh Administrative Services (HPAS) Preliminary Examination, currently scheduled for June 29.

He highlighted a critical concern that the HPAS Prelims is clashing with the nationwide UGC-NET JRF examination, leaving thousands of aspirants in a dilemma. “After years of rigorous preparation, aspirants are being forced to make an unfair choice between two career-defining examinations scheduled on the same day. This is not just unfortunate, it is unjust,” he asserted.

Awasthi emphasized that while the UGC-NET JRF exam is conducted at the national level and rescheduling it is not feasible, the HPAS Preliminary exam is held exclusively in Himachal Pradesh and can be postponed in the interest of fairness.

Commending the state government for its recent decision to grant a two-year age relaxation to aspirants, he added, “We believe this government is sensitive to youth concerns. Just as it took a progressive step on age relaxation, we are hopeful it will show the same responsiveness by rescheduling the HPAS exam to protect the future of dedicated aspirants.”

Awasthi concluded with a hopeful note, urging the government to act swiftly and stand with the youth of Himachal in their pursuit of a better future.
