Khanyara : On the occasion of International Yoga Day, a vibrant celebration took place at the premises of Indrunag Temple in Khanyara, Himachal Pradesh. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from locals as well as revered spiritual guests. Chief among them was Swami Sankalp Dev Ji Maharaj, who arrived from Patanjali, Haridwar.
The yoga session was organized alongside the ongoing Shrimad Devi Bhagwat Katha, with spiritual discourse led by Shri Chandan Ji. Swami Sankalp Dev Ji guided participants through yoga asanas, pranayama, and meditation techniques. He emphasized the significance of incorporating yoga into daily life—not merely as physical exercise but as a path to holistic health and inner discipline.
In his address, Swami Ji encouraged people to begin their mornings with yoga and pranayama to energize the body and mind. He advocated for a simple and mindful lifestyle, urging attendees to avoid junk food and tea, and instead adopt a diet rooted in wholesome, natural nutrition. He stressed the importance of introducing children to yoga from an early age, stating that a child’s formative environment greatly influences their future—”A positive start builds a positive path.”
Adding to the vibrant celebration of International Yoga Day at Indrunag Temple in Khanyara, participants were deeply inspired by the message shared by Swami Sankalp Dev Ji Maharaj. Echoing the essence of wellness, he proclaimed:
“Live healthy, live free—freedom through disciplined yoga. One Earth, one health.”
Furthermore, he advised against taking immediate medication for minor ailments, suggesting that self-healing through yoga can often be more effective. The eight-day yoga camp, which began on June 15 and continues until June 22, has been drawing villagers of all ages—men, women, and children alike.
Swami Ji concluded by highlighting yoga’s power to connect—not just mind and body, but also people with one another. He noted that yoga fosters harmony, mutual understanding, and spiritual growth. The day’s events also included yagya rituals and special prayers to Indrunag Devta, enhancing the spiritual ambiance of the celebration.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from local residents, including District In-charge Santosh Kumari Thakur, retired principal Shri Narinder Thakur, and numerous women and children from nearby villages. Their collective presence highlighted the growing community spirit around yoga as a shared tradition of health, peace, and unity.
