A woman was killed while a man was seriously injured in an accident involving two Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) buses at the Old Bus Stand in Himachal Pradesh capital Shimla on Friday (April 12, 2024) morning.
The accident occurred around 10 am when an HRTC bus parked at the Old Bus Stand was hit from behind by another HRTC bus. A parked bike was also hit in the accident. The people present on the spot took both the injured to Deendayal Upadhyay Hospital where the woman passed away during treatment.
Eyewitnesses present on the spot said that the parked HRTC bus was hit by another HRTC bus in which the man and the woman suffered serious injuries. He has alleged that no one from HRTC came to take the injured to the hospital nor did the police reach the spot.
Taxi drivers present on the spot said that he was sitting in the car at the time of the accident and he also suffered minor injuries.
