In Himachal Pradesh, the issue of water cess levied on power projects has sparked a renewed political debate between the Congress and BJP. Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri has stated that the state government will not follow the instructions in the letter from the central government to remove the cess. In response, opposition leader Jairam Thakur, in Shimla, has expressed that the state government is wrongly blaming the center, causing confusion among the people. He called for the state government to respond to the letter received from the center regarding the water cess issue.
Jairam emphasized that Deputy CM should avoid making political statements on this matter.Meanwhile, the opposition leader stated that the BJP is poised to perform well in the upcoming elections in five states, with the party currently having a favorable political climate in the country.
