District Magistrate Mukesh Repaswal has issued orders to regulate vehicular movement near Maihla Ghar on National Highway-154A (Chakki–Chamba–Bharmaur route) due to ongoing landslide mitigation works. The directive, aimed at ensuring public safety, will remain effective until March 31, 2026.

As per the order, traffic will be temporarily held for 25–30 minutes every hour between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., depending on the requirement of the ongoing works. This regulation has been enforced under Section 115 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

The District Magistrate clarified that emergency service vehicles, including ambulances, fire tenders, and police vehicles, will be allowed free passage without any delay. The Public Works Department’s National Highway Division, Chamba, had notified the administration about the mitigation works, prompting the issuance of these safety measures.

The order emphasizes that the temporary traffic control is essential to safeguard commuters while the landslide prevention activities are carried out.
