Dharamshala: Dharamshala, the headquarters of Kangra district in Himachal Pradesh, witnessed a grand Tiranga Yatra on May 15, 2025, as part of a countrywide initiative to honour the bravery of Indian soldiers and celebrate the success of Operation Sindoor.


Organised under the banner of Citizens for National Security, the event saw enthusiastic participation from various sections of society, including ex-servicemen, students, and local leaders.
The yatra commenced from Kotwali Petrol Pump and proceeded towards Kachahari Adda, with participants waving the tricolour and chanting patriotic slogans

Acknowledging sacrifices of armed forces

The primary objective of the Tiranga Yatra was to instil a sense of national pride and acknowledge the sacrifices made by the armed forces. Operation Sindoor, which played a crucial role in safeguarding Indian citizens and neutralising threats across the border, was highlighted as a testament to India’s military strength and strategic prowess.


The event in Dharamshala was part of a larger campaign spanning multiple districts, including Shimla, Mandi and Hamirpur, from May 14 to May 23. The overwhelming response from the public reflected a deep-rooted respect for the nation’s defenders and a collective commitment to national security.
