Palampur : The third Nirvana Mahotsav of Swami Prakashanand Ji Maharaj was celebrated with great devotion at Govind Jeevan Ashram, Parour (Palampur). The day began with worship and aarti of the revered Swami Ji, followed by a gathering of saints from various regions who came together to honor his teachings.

A spiritual discourse (satsang) was held, where saints from different ashrams shared insights on human liberation. They spoke about the path to freedom from the cycle of birth and death, emphasizing that seva (selfless service) is a significant means to attain spiritual liberation. The saints highlighted that serving spiritual leaders, engaging in satsang, and following Guru’s teachings leads a seeker toward ultimate truth.

During the satsang, speakers reflected on the true meaning of human existence, inspired by Swami Ji’s life. They stressed that human life is not merely about material pursuits—it should be dedicated to righteousness (dharma) and spiritual awakening. Swami Ji always guided his disciples toward the path of moksha (liberation), and his numerous followers across the world continue to adhere to his teachings.

The Nirvana Mahotsav witnessed deep devotion as disciples gathered at the ashram, offering their respects and performing special prayers in honor of Swami Ji. A community feast (bhandara) was organized on the auspicious occasion of Nirjala Ekadashi, serving meals to all saints and devotees present.

Swami Premanand Ji Maharaj, who now manages the ashram following Swami Prakashanand Ji’s legacy, expressed gratitude to all the saints who attended the event. As a token of appreciation, he presented gifts to them for their presence and participation.

Govind Jeevan Ashram continues to uphold its tradition of monthly satsangs and bhandaras on Sankranti (solar transition day), keeping the spiritual essence alive. Swami Prakashanand Ji’s teachings remain a beacon of light for his followers, guiding them toward a life of selfless service and devotion.

The Nirvana Mahotsav was not just a celebration but a reaffirmation of the values that Swami Ji imparted to his disciples, reinforcing the significance of faith, righteousness, and spiritual discipline in leading a meaningful life.
