To effectively curb illegal mining activities, Police District Nurpur has been conducting continuous special drives under the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act.
As part of this campaign, police teams carried out special checking and naka operations across different police station areas. During the action:
- On 19.02.2026:
- Police Post Rey, under Fatehpur jurisdiction (Rey) – 01 tractor
- Indora jurisdiction (Mand) – 02 tractors
- On 20.02.2026:
- Police Post Kandwal, under Nurpur jurisdiction (Nagabari) – 02 tippers
- Fatehpur jurisdiction (Riyali Mand) – 01 tipper
- Police Post Kotla, under Jawali jurisdiction (Kotla) – 01 tractor
In total, 07 vehicles were found involved in illegal mining. All these vehicles have been challaned and necessary legal action has been initiated.
Nurpur Police has made it clear that this campaign against illegal mining will continue, and strict legal action will be taken against violators. The public is urged to immediately share any information related to illegal mining with the police so that natural resources can be safeguarded.
