State Government Committed to Strengthen Industries : CM Sukhu

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to building a robust industrial ecosystem in Himachal Pradesh while interacting with CEOs and entrepreneurs at the Him MSME Fest-2026, organized by the Industries Department at Peterhoff, Shimla.

Key Announcements

  • 37 MoUs signed worth ₹10,000 crore for new enterprises.
  • New industrial policy to be introduced soon.
  • Uninterrupted 24-hour power supply at lowest rates for industries.
  • 22,000 taxis to be replaced with electric vehicles under a subsidy scheme.
  • Green hydrogen buses tender to be issued.
  • 200 five-star hotels permitted to boost tourism and hospitality.
  • World-class city “Him Chandigarh” to be developed near Chandigarh.
  • Bulk Drug Park in Una cleared, expected to attract ₹8,000–10,000 crore investment and create 15,000–20,000 jobs.

CM’s Vision

The Chief Minister emphasized that Himachal Pradesh aims to become a strong economic hub through:

  • Green industrialization and renewable energy.
  • Digital and artificial intelligence-driven growth.
  • Rural industrialization and textile industry promotion.
  • Strengthened logistics and infrastructure, including the Baddi-Chandigarh railway line.
  • Improved connectivity with projects like Kangra airport land acquisition (to be completed by March 31).

He assured entrepreneurs of full government support, urging them to sign implementation agreements promptly.

Facilities under development include:

  • MSE Pharma Lab
  • MSME Technology Center
  • Gas connectivity in major industrial areas
  • Skill development centers in Baddi and Una
  • CIPET (Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology)
