Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania attended the annual prize distribution ceremony at Government Senior Secondary School, Dhaddu, as the chief guest. The event celebrated the achievements of meritorious students who excelled in various academic and extracurricular activities throughout the year.
🎓Education Reforms and CBSE Affiliation
In his address, Pathania lauded the state government’s historic decision to affiliate 100 government senior secondary schools with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). He emphasized that under Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s visionary leadership, this move would significantly enhance the quality and competitiveness of education in Himachal Pradesh.
Pathania stated that this initiative would connect students with national-level academic standards and help them prepare better for future challenges. He added that schools in Chamba district are already meeting CBSE benchmarks, reflecting the success of the government’s unprecedented reforms in the education sector.
🛣️ Road Connectivity for Remote Villages
Reaffirming his commitment to infrastructure development, Pathania announced that the remote villages of Chakki and Rakhed in the Bhatiyat constituency would soon be connected by road. He revealed that forest clearance (FCA) has been granted for the construction of a 9-kilometer link road to Rakhed, fulfilling a long-pending demand of the villagers. Departmental procedures are also underway to connect Chakki village.
He directed officials from the Public Works Department to expedite formalities and commence construction at the earliest.
🌱 Holistic Development of Bhatiyat
Pathania outlined a comprehensive development plan for Bhatiyat, focusing on strengthening electricity, irrigation, drinking water, and healthcare facilities. He announced the extension of the Jhajhdi–Lohni–Bihali link road to connect with the Chuwadi highway, and further expansion from Saila to Mathla. Surveys are also in progress for new roads from Kaithli to Vilaspur and from Jalda to Jot.
🏫 School Infrastructure and Cultural Support
Responding to the school management committee’s request, Pathania assured support for the construction of a new school building. He advised the committee to submit the land transfer proposal to the Sub-Divisional Officer of Bhatiyat and promised relocation of the revenue department’s Patwar Circle office from the school premises.
The ceremony began with a traditional lamp-lighting ritual. Students presented vibrant cultural performances that captivated the audience. To encourage artistic expression, Pathania announced ₹21,000 and ₹11,000 for senior and junior student groups respectively.

Pathania was warmly welcomed by the school management and local residents. Acting Principal Vijay Kumar presented the annual report. The event was attended by dignitaries including Chela Krishan Chand (State Forest Corporation), Raj Kumar Chambiyal (State Cooperative Bank), Surendra Chadak (Vice President, Chuwadi Panchayat Samiti), SDM Paras Agrawal, DSP Yograj Chandel, DFO Rajnish Mahajan, and other senior officials from Jal Shakti, Electricity, and Rural Development departments, along with students, parents, and community members.
