A distressing incident has come to light in the Jangla sub-tehsil of Rohru in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh where a 65-year-old woman has accused her own grandson of sexually assaulting her.

Based on her complaint, the police have registered a case and initiated an investigation. According to the victim’s statement, she has been living alone in her home after her husband’s death.

The complainant alleged that on the afternoon of July 3, her 25-year-old grandson entered her room and forced himself upon her. The accused reportedly threatened to *kill her if she disclosed the crime to anyone. The traumatised woman mustered the courage to file a police complaint on July 7, leading to the registration of an FIR under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
