Dharamshala — Senior Himachal BJP leader and spokesperson Trilok Kapoor launched a scathing attack on the Congress government and Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s cabinet, accusing them of betraying public trust and now running a “voter fraud campaign.”
Kapoor alleged that the Congress came to power by promising ten guarantees, which he described as “false and deceptive.” “The very leaders who reneged on their promises from the streets to the assembly are now avoiding public accountability,” he said. “Citizens are stopping Congress leaders at public squares, demanding answers, but neither the Chief Minister nor his ministers have any response.”
He further claimed that before coming to power, Congress had promised one lakh government jobs in its first cabinet meeting. “Instead, over 1.5 lakh posts were abolished and more than 15,000 people lost their jobs,” Kapoor stated.
Calling out ministers for misleading the public, Kapoor said, “These are the same ministers who swore false oaths in the name of God and cited their top leadership to lure voters. Now, they look away when asked about those guarantees.”
Kapoor also accused the government of nepotism, saying that only close relatives and friends of Congress leaders are benefiting from development schemes, while ordinary citizens struggle for basic amenities. “Disaster-hit communities have received no relief, roads remain unrepaired, and crops have rotted in the fields while the government remains indifferent,” he added.
He concluded by alleging that the Chief Minister has withheld powers from his ministers and MLAs, leaving them unable to face the public. “But the people are now ready to demand accountability at every level,” Kapoor warned.
