Dharamshala: The Kangra District Bar Association has extended heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, for the state government’s landmark decision to shift the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) office from Shimla to Dharamshala.
In an official statement issued on Sunday, Advocate Ankur Soni, President of the Kangra District Bar Association, hailed the move as a progressive and people-centric step that would bring real estate regulatory services closer to the people of the lower Himachal region. “This decision will significantly enhance accessibility, streamline regulatory procedures, and contribute to the holistic development of the Kangra region,” said Soni.
The Association noted that the relocation marks a crucial milestone in the decentralization of governance, ensuring that real estate regulation is no longer limited by geography. With the RERA office now in Dharamshala, residents, developers, and legal professionals in the region will benefit from faster service delivery, reduced travel burdens, and improved administrative responsiveness.
“This move reflects the government’s commitment to equitable development and transparent governance,” the statement said, further appreciating the Chief Minister’s visionary leadership and proactive approach in addressing the region’s long-standing demand.
The Bar Association also expressed optimism about further administrative reforms in the region. “We hope that with the formation of the Administrative Tribunal, a permanent bench will soon be established in Dharamshala,” the statement added.
Advocate Soni reiterated that the decision will have a far-reaching impact not only for the legal and real estate community but also for common citizens, who will now find it easier to engage with regulatory mechanisms closer to home.
The Kangra District Bar Association concluded by expressing its deep appreciation and support for the government’s initiative, calling it a pivotal step toward balanced regional development across Himachal Pradesh.
