Demonstrating a strong commitment to humanitarian service and social responsibility, the Raja Virbhadra Singh Foundation has stepped forward to help families affected by the recent natural disaster in Mandi district.
Under the leadership of foundation president and Himachal Pradesh Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh, the organisation has pledged targeted assistance for relief and rehabilitation efforts in the worst-hit areas.
On Monday, senior foundation member Yadopati Thakur, along with other representatives from Mandi, handed over a cheque worth ₹11 lakh to the Deputy Commissioner of Mandi.
According to foundation members, the donation will be used to provide urgent relief materials, support rehabilitation programmes and address essential needs of displaced families.
“The Raja Virbhadra Singh Foundation has always stood by the people of Himachal Pradesh in both moments of celebration and times of crisis,” the members said in a joint statement. “After visiting the disaster-hit areas, our president Vikramaditya Singh personally met affected families and pledged to offer them support. It is our duty to unite and help restore normalcy in their lives. This contribution is a modest but sincere effort towards that mission.”
The foundation, established in memory of former Chief Minister late Raja Virbhadra Singh, continues to uphold his legacy by prioritising public service, humanitarian values and social welfare. Members affirmed that the organisation will remain actively involved in disaster response and community development initiatives across the state.
Those present at the handover included Ajay Modgil, Azad Thakur, Sachin Verma, Anil Sharma, Tarun Thakur, Kishori Thakur, Gopal Krishan and Bodhraj, alongside senior local officials.
