A first-year MBBS trainee at Chamba Medical College has accused senior students of ragging, triggering serious concern within the college administration.

Upon receiving the written complaint, the college authorities immediately directed the Anti-Ragging Committee to launch an investigation. In view of the gravity of the matter, the administration has already questioned 13 trainee doctors separately to gather facts.

The Complaint

The complainant, a trainee from Solan district, alleged that he faced mental pressure and inappropriate behavior from senior students. The situation escalated on Tuesday when a group of youths entered the college premises and raised slogans, further intensifying tensions. Security personnel had to intervene to restore order.

Investigation Underway

The Anti-Ragging Committee has begun a detailed probe into the authenticity of the allegations, examining the time, place, and role of the students involved. The college administration has assured that if the charges are proven, strict action will be taken against the guilty students.

Officials emphasized that indiscipline, ragging, or mental harassment will not be tolerated at any level. Both parties are being closely monitored until the investigation concludes, to prevent misinformation or unnecessary tension.
